Grand Theft Auto V was launched back in 2013 and it has been almost eight years but it still has sustained its popularity among gamers without any fail. Despite other games with bigger maps, GTA V remains in the top 3 when it comes to Open-World Games.
GTA 5 is going to be a decade old but still, no other game can match the level of details that GTA V provides. Players can roam for hours searching for new individual places and easter eggs in the game.
The map is the secondary thing, quality and quantity are what make GTA V stand out from the crowd of other games. And to ensure that, it provides plenty of Main Story Missions and Side Missions to players around the map.
MAIN STORY MISSIONS
There are 69 main story missions in GTA 5 featuring different characters. And there is no fixed chronological order in which they should be completed.
Except for Prologue, all story missions are evaluated according to certain criteria and along with that, there is a checklist of optional objectives available for each main story mission. They affect the rating of a player and based on the rating, the player is awarded the medals: Bronze, Silver, or Gold.

SIDE MISSIONS
Apart from the main missions, some characters like Trevor and Franklin have their own side missions and activities that are meant to be successfully undertaken by the player. However, there is a specified order in which the missions of the characters should be completed, and sometimes just unlocking some of the characters doesn't unlock all the missions. Some missions don't show up until and unless their respective missions are not completed.
There are a total of 58 side missions in GTA V and probably more than this figure if random encounters are seen as side missions and for that, you may have to spend some time going here and there for these encounters to happen.

Despite the fact that both the Social Club and in-game statistics mention that GTA V has only 69 missions, there are 79 main story missions in actuality. This was intensionally done to make the 69 reference and also due to the fact that a player cannot play all the missions due to the choices made in the game.
And if the player has completed all the missions then there are certain hobbies and past-time in Los Santos they can indulge into. GTA V offers games within games like golf, tennis, marathons, bars, clubs, skydiving, and darts.
Also, stunt jumps under the bridge challenges and radioactive waste collection can help a player achieve 100% completion.
On and Average, a player may take at least 84 hours to complete all challenges and missions.
