Spider-Verse comes to Fornite?
Marvel and DC Comics each have their own multiverse that they frequently draw from in one way or another. For instance, DC Comics like creating "Crisis" situations in which one reality is attempting to attack another, and either they can stop it or the Multiverse as a whole prevents it from happening. Marvel, on the other hand, often only delivers whole stories from its Multiverse, which has throughout the years produced some extremely entertaining stories and characters. For instance, one of the multiverse stories in the Into The Spider-Verse series gave rise to Spider-Gwen, who is now more often known as Ghost Spider.
Gwen Stacy, not Peter Parker, was the one with supernatural abilities in her version of Earth. As a result of the way things kept happening to her, things changed significantly from there. For example, Peter turned into The Lizard and died after a fight with Gwen; her father tried to have her arrested; and later, she lost her powers but later regained them thanks to a symbiote. Fun.
Her popularity in the comics took off right away, but when she was presented to the general public in Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse—the hugely successful animated film that will be getting two sequels starting next year—she went and blew up even more. (Without additional delays, of course.)
Why then do we provide you such a detailed history of Spider-Gwen? HYPEX, a well-known leaker, claims that Gwen Stacy will be a part of the Season 4 battle pass and that Miles Morales, another Spider-Man, will be making an appearance in the Item Shop since Fortnite leakers have been looking through the game's code.
Obviously, Epic Games has not officially confirmed this, but many fans like these have been accurate in their predictions regarding recent crossovers in the game, and this would fit with what we've seen lately. For instance, Raven wasn't all that far back when Starfire from the Teen Titans squad joined the game, indicating that they are currently obsessed with superheroes.
Additionally, Marvel has already featured a tonne of characters in Fortnite, such as the Infinity War/Endgame crossover where you could play Thanos in a separate game mode! That right there is boss-level material.
Additionally, because their next movies will once again feature them, it would make sense to include Gwen and Miles in the game. Therefore, it's at least a branding move while also including some beloved characters on the roster, which we all know the game loves to have.
